Hi! I am David. I recently joined Cohere as a research engineer within Cohere Labs, working on language models.
Before that I was a research scientist at NXAI, working on the xLSTM architecture with Sepp Hochreiter et al. Earlier, I did my PhD at the Language Technology Lab, which is part of the University of Amsterdam. I was supervised by Christof Monz and Vlad Niculae. Even earlier, I obtained my BSc and MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam.
I interned twice at Amazon Research in Berlin with their awesome machine translation team, and earlier at Infosys in Bangalore.
